PAPERFOLIO 페이퍼폴리오

모든 것이 디지털로 변모한 시대에서 아날로그를 지속한다는 것은 두 세계의 균형을 맞추려는 실험이다. 갤러리 X2는 종이라는 공통된 재료를 사용하는 작가 6인을 선정해 전시 <PAPERFOLIO : from pulp to poetry>를 기획했다. 이들은 전통적인 매체를 사용하지만 완전히 새로운 감각의 드로잉을 기반으로 작품 세계를 펼쳐나간다.  

경이로움 속에서는 가장 익숙했던 것들이 생소해진다. 즉, 이들의 종이 드로잉은 가장 익숙한 매체를 생소하게 받아들임으로써 감탄을 창조하는 행위다. 따라서 이들에게 종이는 더 이상 과거의 산물이 아니다. 역사를 반영하면서도 동시대와 호흡하는 유연한 매체인 것이다. 

멀티 태스킹의 세상에서 종이는 여전히 일차원적인 정보 처리만을 수행한다. 그러나 성립, 김서울, 김성식, 나백, 박미라 그리고 유희의 종이 드로잉은 무궁무진한 다차원의 세계로 감상자를 이끈다. 

디지털 그 이상의 울림이 <PAPERFOLIO : from pulp to poetry>에서 시작된다.

Continuing analog in an era where everything has been transformed into digital is an experiment to balance the two worlds. Gallery X2 selected 6 artists who used a common material called paper and planned the exhibition <PAPERFOLIO: from pulp to poetry>. They use traditional media, but they unfold the world of work based on a completely new sense of drawing.

In wonder, the most familiar things become unfamiliar. In other words, their paper drawing is the act of creating admiration by accepting the most familiar media unfamiliarly. Therefore, for them, paper is no longer a product of the past. It is a flexible medium that reflects history and breathes with contemporary times.

In a world of multitasking, paper still performs only one-dimensional information processing. However, the paper drawings of Seonglib, Kim Seoul, Kim Sung-sik, Nabaek, Park Mi-ra and UHee lead viewers into an endless multidimensional world.
